Get Help for Your Child’s Exposure Injury
The Environmental Protection Agency’s own researchers found that exposure to Chlorpyrifos, the active ingredient used in the insecticide Lorsban, led to debilitating neurological damage and cognitive impairment for children up to 5 years old.
The EPA acknowledged for decades that chlorpyrifos can cause acute poisoning and in the early 2000s prohibited its use in most home products. Despite the agency’s recognition of mounting evidence that prenatal exposure to the toxic chemical could have lasting effects on children’s brains, they reversed their own proposal to ban the insecticide. They knew the risks of exposure to your child. They chose not to take action. Join other Lorsban victims who are legitimately suing Dow AgroSciences for financial compensation after learning their child’s cognitive impairment was directly linked to the product. |

what is Lorsban?
Lorsban is the market name for Chlorpyrifos, an organophosphate insecticide patented in 1966 by Dow Chemical Company that is typically applied to crops and buildings. It quickly kills invasive insects by attacking the nervous system and penetrating the surrounding soil, providing long term protection from common pests. According to the EPA, Chlorpyrifos is the “most used conventional insecticide” in the United States. In excess of 1 Million pounds of Chlorpyrifos are sprayed on crops across the country every year.
Why is Lorsban dangerous?
The active ingredient in Lorsban is chlorpyrifos, a toxic chemical manufactured by Dow Chemical Co. for the purpose of pest control that was found linked to the development of acute brain damage among children who were exposed prenatally or up to 5 years old. Research conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency has repeatedly concluded that exposure to chlorpyrifos among pregnant women may be a direct cause of their children's neurological damage diagnoses.
Families living in agricultural communities are at risk even if they personally do not work in the fields. Frequent crop blowover has exposed children in neighboring communities resulting in extreme immediate reactions and less detectable cognitive conditions. We believe that children and their families in America’s farmland deserve better. Exposing the public to a harmful pesticide is unacceptable.
